Barbara Reese is the practice owner of Resilience DBT & Eating Recovery at ResilienceTherapy Collaborative, LLC, an outpatient eating disorder and mental health practice in Montclair, New Jersey for over 25 years. Ms. Reese feels it is, and has been a great privileged to work with individuals and families in this diverse and culturally rich area of New Jersey.

At Resilience , Ms. Reese developed an evidenced based outpatient practice with two tracks for Eating Disorder Recovery and Mental Health Resiliency. As an Eating Disorder Specialist, Ms. Reese is passionate about early intervention of eating disorders. She is an experienced Eating Disorder Practitioner and Consultant, who treats the full-range of eating disorders – Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge-Eating Disorder. She has two highest level of certification in treating children and adolescents, with eating disorders, FBT, and in supervision of eating disorder clinicians, CEDS-C.

Ms. Reese has lectured widely on The Prevention and Treatment of Eating Disorders and Body Image in the Multi-Cultural Framework, in schools, hospitals, national/international conferences, and for athletic forums. She has seen many individuals go onto full and complete recovery from an eating disorder, and lead   fulfilling lives.

As an  Intensively-Trained DBT Practitioner, Ms. Reese was trained by Behavioral Tech the training institute of Marcia Linehan, at Silver Hill Hospital.  At Resilience DBT, Ms. Reese provides and supervises our Comprehensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Program– Individual DBT Therapy, DBT Skills Group Training, and Phone Coaching. She leads our weekly DBT-ED Consultation Team, to support our DBT clinicians.

She has extensive experience with trauma, grief, and loss.  Ms. Reese works with young children and families who are also supported by grief organizations such as Rainbows, Good Grief, and C.O.P.s – Concerns for Police Survivors, for families effected by a parent killed in the line of duty. Throughout her professional career, she has utilized the Arts in Psychotherapy in her clinical work.  She is a Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist and Supervisor . This Mind-Body approach is a core foundation in all of her clinical work.
